Valeria is a seasoned business and financial journalist with sixteen years of industry experience.

Before launching Equity Report in October 2022, Valeria was European Editor for US-based financial news service CTFN, where she spent seven years reporting on event-driven situations, breaking news stories on complex financial and regulatory issues across several jurisdictions, from Europe and Africa to China, India, Brazil, and Australia.

Prior to that, she worked as Senior Reporter at TelecomFinance. In her role, she wrote about telecoms M&A, financing and regulation across Southern Europe and Latin America.

Valeria was Middle East Correspondent, and later Southern Europe Correspondent at M&A intelligence specialist Mergermarket (currently ION), where she covered corporate M&A situations.

She also held a number of editorial positions with Dubai and London-based b2b publications, including Associate Editor for HVACR-focused Climate Control Middle East, Editor at power & energy magazine MEGAWHAT and physical security title Security Advisor Middle East, Property Finance Reporter for EuroProperty-Estates Gazette, and Senior Journalist at ICT publication IT Europa.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Languages and Public Relations from Leeds Beckett University and an MA in International Journalism from University of Central Lancashire.

Valeria is also a published author. Her debut novel, The World Through Your Eyes, was published by Guernica Editions in May 2022.

In addition to writing, she is passionate about food, flamenco music, foreign cultures, and the irony of the human condition.
